Martin Guilfoyle gets Beat’s Takeover show

Spin 1038 DJ Martin Guilfoyle is heading to Beat 102-103 to host the Takeover Show, after Dave Cronin was promoted to daytime last week.

Dave moved to Beat’s Big Lunch after Teresanne O’Reilly left Beat to go to Spin 1038.

Speaking to RadioToday, Martin said: “I genuinely cannot wait to start with Beat! The top 7 at 7 is huge and The Takeover has grown so much in the last year! I’m looking forward to help grow the audience of the show with my style of presenting.

“I have heard so many good things about Beat and the staff are lovely! I have some exciting new ideas for both the top 7 at 7 and the takeover so I am looking forward to bringing them to the listener.”

Niall Power, Beat 102-103’s Head of Station Sound added: “We’re absolutely thrilled that Martin is joining the on-air team at Beat. He comes with a huge amount of experience at Spin 1038, both on air and in events/promotions, and we’re excited about working with him to further develop his talent.”

The former Liffy Sound presenter has been at Spin for the last couple of years, presenting Saturday afternoons and other cover shifts. He will continue Saturdays at Spin and starts at Beat on the 16th January.

Niall continued: “We launch our fresh sound for 2014 today (Friday) with a new weekend lineup, kicking off with a brand new show on Friday evening, Ray C’s Old Skool Party.”
