A major part of 2fm’s new schedule started today with the arrival of Westlife singer Nicky Byrne hosting middays, with co-host Jenny Greene.
The station also has a new sound today thanks to a new imaging package being introduced, created by Reelworld Europe.
RTÉ 2fm describes the 11am till 2pm show as “a three-hour high energy music driven entertainment radio show with lots of new features and guests from the world of music & entertainment.”
Today, Head of 2fm & Director of Radio Sales, Dan Healy said: “Nicky is the latest high profile bagging for 2fm, I am thrilled that he is joining our team. I started to talking to Nicky as soon as I arrived at 2fm and I believe that The Nicky Byrne Show will appeal to young audiences through instant likeability and humour…..watch this space.”
The station is also looking for a sponsor for the show, on both six or 12 month deals. Six months costs €132,000 whilst 12 months costs €245,000 to get three sponsorship stings an hour, along with podcast and homepage sponsorship.
