RTÉ 2fm weekend presenter Paddy McKenna is to interview Iarla Ó Lionáird & Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh from The Gloaming at an upcoming event organised by IMRO.
IMRO will also present Iarla and Caoimhín with an IMRO Award to acknowledge their recent No.1 Irish Independent Album Chart ranking with the Gloaming album which was produced by Thomas Bartlett and released in January on Real World Records.
The Gloaming features New York pianist Thomas Bartlett (aka Doveman), Chicago guitarist Dennis Cahill, fiddle master Martin Hayes, hardanger innovator Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh and singer Iarla Ó Lionaird.
The free evening will take place at IMRO, Copyright House, Pembroke Row, Dublin 2 from 7pm on Tuesday 22nd April.
IMRO are also organising a Music Technology Workshop with CreateSound.ie. The main demonstration will explore composition, production techniques and performance using Ableton in conjunction with external MIDI controllers.
