Craol, the Irish Community Radio network, welcomes the appointment of Alex White TD, as new Minister for Communication, Energy and Natural Resources.
Mary Lennon, the Chair of Craol has said: “We look forward to working with the Minister in his role of developing the media sector in Ireland. On the Communications front, the Minister has many challenges, such as monitoring future media mergers, introducing the PSBC and ensuring the continued existence of a rich diversity of media across the state.”
With 22 licensed community radio stations operating nationwide, Community radio plays a significant and growing role in the irish media landscape. Mary Lennon added: “Craol commits to working closely with the Minister as he engages with his task. We look forward to an early meeting with the Minister and to a mutually beneficial relationship.”
