Former RTÉ television presenter, Bibi Baskin, is to make her broadcasting comeback on Cork’s 96FM.
Bibi is joining The Opinion Line team of PJ Coogan and Deirdre O’Shaughnessy as a co-presenter during the holiday period.
After she left RTE, Bibi moved to the UK where she hosted an afternoon lifestyle programme on ITV as well as working for BBC local radio. More recently she has been living in India. Now back in Ireland, she has made her home in Cork.
She will co-present the Open Line section of the Irish Daily Mail sponsored show weekdays between 11am and midday from Tuesday next week.
Presenter PJ Coogan is delighted to welcome Baskin to the Opinion Line team: “I am thrilled to welcome a legend of Irish broadcasting to the Opinion Line team. There’s never a dull moment on the Open Line and I know Bibi’s wit and professionalism will go down well with Cork audiences. Our listeners always like a bit of fun and I’m sure we’ll have plenty of that too!”
Bibi Baskin added: “For me, Cork has a bit of everything – warmth (not the weather), friendliness, fun, and a real get-up-and-go attitude when it comes to turning around the local economy. I never imagined I would be part of the Cork radio community. Thanks a mill to Cork’s 96fm for the exciting days that lie ahead. As the cliché goes, can’t wait!”
