RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta is inviting secondary schools across the country to send in proposals for radio programmes.
RnaG wants suggestions for shows on the theme of 1916 for a competition that forms part of the station’s centenary programming schedule for next year, with a prize of €1000 up for grabs.
There are two stages to the competition.
Firstly, secondary schools across the country, north and south, are invited to submit proposals for a 30 minute radio programme in Irish on the theme of the 1916 Easter Rising by 7 December.
Then 5 of the best proposals will be selected, and a radio producer will work with those schools to produce the programmes, for broadcast in spring 2016.
The best overall programme will be awarded €1000 and judges will be looking for programmes that are imaginative and innovative. It has the support of the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
Entries for the competition must be with RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta by 7 December and more details can be found here.
