Two Communicorp stations get 10 more years

New 10 year contracts have been given to Communicorp stations Today FM and SPIN South West.

Today FM will continue serving the nation with news and talk, whilst SPIN South West will continue with its Limerick city-based pop music service targeting 15- to 34-year-olds across the South West.

Also today, the BAI has signed a new 10 year contracts with Connemara Community Radio, which has been operating from studios in Letterfrack & Inishbofin since 1995, and CRC FM in Castlebar, Co Mayo.

Earlier this week, new contacts were given to Phoenix FM, Wire FM, Flirt FM and UCC in Cork.

Commenting on the contract signings, Professor Pauric Travers, Chairperson of the BAI, said: “We are very pleased to sign ten-year contracts with each of the four services today. These services play a valuable role in contributing to the diversity of services available to Irish audiences, a key theme for the BAI in the context of its regulatory role and its strategic intent. We wish each contractor continued success over the term of these contracts.”
