Classic Hits’ generous listeners have donated €50,000 to make the wishes of Ireland’s sick children come true.
The station has been touring the country to hear stories of the children who will benefit from the funds raised by listeners, for the Wish Week 2018 campaign.
Listeners made 12,500 donations of €4 to th charity, which has no state funding and relys on the generosity of the public.
Make A Wish Chief Executive Susan O’Dwyer said: “On behalf of all our wish children, I wanted to say a massive thank you to you all. The way you put the music to the stories was fantastic and made them even more emotive. Showing such fabulous passion and empathy for the charity; we really cannot thank you enough, you have made a significant impact just when it was needed. It has been a real pleasure to work with you all.
“We would sincerely like to thank all our listeners for being so generous, some donating many times over.”
