Today FM has announced a new line up of voices to its weekend schedule including Anna Geary, Pamela Joyce and Claire Beck.
Anna Geary will join Declan Pierce to co-host a brand-new show called Pumped up Kicks (Saturdays, 2-6pm) kicking off on Saturday, 26th October.
Pamela Joyce, who joined the station last year, will now present three shows across the weekend: Friday Night Anthems (10pm-12am), Saturday (11am-2pm) and Sunday (1pm-4pm).
Speaking about the new schedule, Programme and Content Director Adelle Nolan said; “I’m delighted to welcome Anna to Today FM to host alongside Declan Pierce. Their brand-new interactive Saturday show perfectly marries the passions of music and sport and is brought to you by two of Ireland’s most knowledgeable presenters in these areas.”
“I’d also like to congratulate Pamela and Claire on their respective new shows. Our new weekend line-up reinforces Today FM’s commitment to bringing our listeners the best music, entertainment and personalities 7 days a week.”
On her new national radio show, Anna Geary commented; “I’m thrilled to be hitting the national airwaves and getting my teeth stuck into the brand-new show, Pumped Up Kicks”, on Today FM. I’m really looking forward to interacting with our listeners around sport, music and everything in between. Most of all, I’m looking forward to the craic on air with Dec and probable slagging. I hope Dec is ready. I can’t wait!”
Block Rockin’ Beats live on-air show will now broadcast every Friday (7-10pm), as Today FM makes room for former TXFM presenter Claire Beck, who will present Saturday SoundSystem (6-9pm). Block Rockin’ Beats will also broadcast as an additional digital station with 24-hour non-stop music, available on the Today FM app.
Commenting on her appointment, Pamela Joyce said; “I am over the moon to be joining Today FM permanently. The listeners welcomed me with open arms just a few short months ago and I’m so happy to now have the opportunity to continue entertaining them and to continue working with such a fabulous bunch of people.”
Phil Cawley will now be on every Sunday on Sunday Drive (4-7pm).
Today FM’s new weekend schedule comes into effect this weekend (Friday, 11th October) while Pumped Up Kicks will air from Saturday, 26th October.
