Multi-city station Classic Hits 4FM have smashed their own target of raising €21,000 for the Down Syndrome Centre in just 5 days – by doing it in just half that time!
The station’s Programme Director Andy Matthews today exclusively spoke to RadioToday, to reval that the station is well ahead of its target and will continue raising funds to the end of the week.
He told us: “We at Classic Hits 4FM are delighted to announce that we’ve completed our Mission to raise €21,000 well ahead of time in fact in an amazing 2 1/2 days, the text lines remain open until 7pm Friday and donations are still pouring in.”
He added that, as of Thursday afternoon, they “are currently heading for €30,000 in real cash which is an incredible feat and testament to the generosity of our loyal listenership. This money will have an immediate and positive impact on the services that the Down Syndrome Centre offer and on the children that really need this service”.
The on-air fundraising event started on Monday morning at 7am and concludes on Friday evening, with the aim of raising thousands of euros for the Down Syndrome Centre. Listeners can make a €4 donation by texting MISSION to 50300 in conjunction with LikeCharity.
