Nova gives away more Stripped Back Santa cash

Radio NOVA has rounded off its 5th year of broadcasting with a final cash giveaway of €2,100.

The money was won by listener Karen Kelly from Phibsborough, who correctly guessed that NOVA’s ‘Stripped Back’ song was Bon Jovi – You give love a bad name. The station had ‘stripped’ the song to its musical elements and had been revealing a bit more of the song each day over past number of weeks.

The songs were played each hour by NOVA’s very own Santa Claus, a character known as ‘Stripped Back Santa’.

Speaking live on air to presenters Dee Woods and Marty Miller, she said ‘I listen to you guys every single morning and we have this family chat on WhatsApp and I record it every single day and listen back and try to guess it”.

Dee: ‘We knew when Stripped Back Santa added the bass line, that the song would become more obvious, but fair play to Karen, she still got it from just a two second clip! We’re delighted she’s going to have a heap of extra cash for Christmas.’

Karen Kelly was not the only winner of Stripped Back Santa, on December 4th Pat Courtenay gave away €1300 to Paul McGonagle from Milltown who correctly guessed the Stripped Back song was One Week by Bare Naked Ladies.
