George Hook returns with a Saturday Sit-In

George Hook’s new show is called Hook’s Saturday Sit-In, and is part of a new weekend schedule at Newstalk for 2018.

His new show starts this Saturday morning from 8am till 10am and will feature interviews, reviews and regular items on travel, music and US politics.

He was let go from his weekday show in September after controversial comments he made about rape sparked a backlash.

Meanwhile, Newstalk’s tech correspondent Jess Kelly will present her own new show ‘Tech Talk’; News presenter Andrea Gilligan will host a current affairs and politics-focused show called ‘Between the Lines’; and Newstalk reporter and regular cover presenter Kieran Cuddihy will present current affairs show, ‘On the Record’.

Speaking about the weekend schedule, Chris Doyle from Newstalk said: “We are delighted to announce this exciting new line-up and, in particular, to welcome these new presenters to our weekend schedule, each of whom has proved extremely popular with our audiences, contributing across a range of shows over the past few years.”

George Hook returns to the air on 6th January, with the rest of the schedule changes effective from 13th January.
