Chris Barry, former presenter with 98FM, FM104 and Sunshine Radio is thought to be heading back to Dublin radio, taking over the phone show on FM104.
He’ll replace Adrian Kennedy, who along with his producer Jeremy Dixon, is moving to a new daytime show on 98FM.
The Herald reports Chris could be starting his new show on Monday 30th September, even though the station took the presenter to court in 1998 when he attempted to join rival station 98FM.
An insider told the newspaper: “Chris Barry will appeal to some of the Phone Show’s audience but the name will mean absolutely nothing to a lot of Adrian Kennedy’s young listeners.
“It’s so far back that in 1998 when Chris left FM104, they didn’t do text messaging on the Phone Show because it hadn’t been invented.”
Chris Barry is listed as working for himself since 2007 as a Voice Over for a number of clients including RTÉ.
