RTÉ confirms Budget 2014 radio coverage

RTÉ will once again provide coverage of Budget 2014 today with reporting and analysis across television, radio, online and mobile platforms.
RTÉ Radio 1’s Budget 2014 coverage started with an extended Drivetime today, as Minister for Finance Michael Noonan and Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Brendan Howlin TD delivered their Budget speeches. Mary Wilson was speaking to both Ministers after their speeches and the Drivetime panel will provide comment and analysis.

Drivetime reporters Fergal Keane and Philip Boucher-Hayes are reporting from the Dáil and the Government press conferences, while Brian Lally is gauging the public’s reaction on the ground around the country. Olivia O’Leary and Brian Dowling will also be on hand to offer political analysis.

On Wednesday morning at 10am Today with Sean O’Rourke will air a post-Budget special as Ministers Brendan Howlin TD and Michael Noonan TD join Sean O’Rouke in studio for a live phone-in. The public will get the opportunity to pose questions to both Ministers Michael Noonan and Brendan Howlin about how the budget affects them.

Liveline will be reacting to Budget 2014 as Joe Duffy takes calls from members of the public in relation to how the Budget directly affects them on Wednesday afternoon.

RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta has also been out and about with a live broadcast from Leinster House. A panel of speakers, chaired by Gormfhlaith Ní Thuairisg, are offering their analysis of the budget on the programme Lá na Cáinaisnéise. The panel includes Des Geraghty, former President of SIPTU, journalist Áine Ní Chiaráin, tax consultant Ciarán Ó Feinneadha, and financial expert Conall Ó Móráin. Representatives of the country’s various political parties will also present their opinions of the budget during the show, which runs until 6.00pm.
