FM104’s News Editor Trish Laverty is leaving UTV and heading to Communicorp to take on the group role of Metro Editor.
Trish will have editorial responsibility for news on 98FM, Spin1038 and Spin South West and will help increase the digital news output on all stations. She takes on the duties of Teena Gates who left 98FM last month to launch her own company.
Georgie Gavin, who is currently News Editor at Spin1038 is being promoted to the new position of Entertainment Editor for the group. The station says this new role will help boost entertainment and music coverage across all stations as well as enhance digital and social output on all platforms.
Gareth O’Connor, Managing Editor for Communicorp told RadioToday: “These new roles in our news operation will further enhance on air and online output across all our broadcast and digital platforms.”
Trish starts at the Communicorp News Hub, based in Marconi House, next month.
