To celebrate 25 years of independent radio, Independent Radio Sales is changing its name to IRS+ with the tag line “more to local radio”.
The website has changed to irsplus.ie and the organisation can now be found on Twitter as @IRS_Plus. The plus represents a move to cover the digital market.
Balls.ie, the destination site for sports fans seeking the latest and greatest in national and international sports news, is the first website to join the digital ranks.
Peter Smyth, now Commercial Director at IRS+ said “These are extremely exciting times for IRS+. This new service is something that the team and I are looking forward to bringing to the market. A move into the digital world was a natural progression and the addition of our very first website, Balls.ie was an obvious partnership. Both Balls.ie and local Irish radio are at the heart of local communities around the country and are continually featuring content that is relevant to our audiences. With our new digital arm in place, 2014 promises to be a year of significant growth and change.”
Brian Reynolds, CEO, Balls Media said “We are very excited by the partnership with IRS+ and look forward to another year of huge growth and an amazing schedule of sport. We see the link up with IRS+ as a key move in the expansion of what we can offer here at Balls Media”.
IRS is the central sales and marketing office for 17 independent radio stations across the Republic of Ireland and six stations in N.Ireland.
