FM104 is looking for an up and coming act to open this year’s The Gig on May 13th in Dublin.
The Gig is in its 7th year, and will support the ISPCC and FM104’s Help A Dublin Child. Acts are invited to get in touch with the station if they’d like to be in with a chance of opening the show.
The first acts are already announced as Walking on Cars and Gavin James – they’ll be playing with many others at the Olympia Theatre.
Last year’s event raised €50,000 and featured The Coronas, The Stunning, Ryan Sheridan, This Club, Original Rude Boys, Kiera Dignam and The Voice of Ireland winner Keith Hanley.
Of the upcoming concert, FM104 Programme Director Dave Kelly told RadioToday: “This is the seventh ‘FM104’s The Gig’ and, without doubt, it will be the best one to date. We, at FM104, are really appreciative of all the acts that perform for free as all proceeds go to FM104’s Help a Dublin Child for the ISPCC. The event raises in the region of €50,000 each year. These are much needed funds to help the ISPCC continue their great work with Dublin Kids. This year is a bit different with most of the acts performing at The Gig for the first time in its history.”
The station says a very special ‘super’ headline act will be announced soon.
