Newstalk’s Tom Dunne interviewed in 738AM podcast

Newstalk’s night-time host and Something Happens front man Tom Dunne is the fifth person – and second radio presenter – to be interviewed in the 738AM Podcast from Castaway Media.

Presented by voiceover artist Andrew Mangan, who is also a podcaster with Arsenal Football Club fan site ArseBlog, the show took its name from the medium-wave frequency of the original Radio Nova.

Previous interviewees include RTÉ 2FM’s Rick O’Shea – who was the first to feature on the podcast and also recently started a Radio 1 programme on poetry, and journalist Jim Carroll, who writes the “On The Record” column for The Irish Times and contributes to RTÉ Radio 1’s Arena programme.

Aside from his musical career, Tom Dunne has been a radio presenter for some time, starting with 98FM’s Totally Irish show and moving on to the much loved “Pet Sounds” on Today FM. He’s been with national station Newstalk since 2008, where he moved to a weeknight (10pm to midnight) slot after Pat Kenny took his daytime slot at the station.

The interview, in which Mangan asks Dunne about his music, writing, recording, broadcasting and more can be heard via the Castaway Media site here.
