The Media Show is back on Radio 1 for a 13 week run, produced by independent company Old Yard Productions.
The weekly show is presented by Conor Brophy and promises an informative, entertaining and off-beat look at the world of print, broadcast and on-line media.
Radio 1 says it will get under the skin of major and minor media stories in a punchy, jargon-free and accessible way that will make it enjoyable for a wider, broad based audience.
“There will be sharp interviews with some of the major players in Irish and International media. The Media Show will also be a place where the listener will encounter new ideas, new voices, and be exposed to the freshest, quirkiest, and most intelligent thinking in a changing media world.”
This week on the Media Show, Conor will speak to an Irish journalist who is currently working for Al Jazeera and another Irish journalist who worked for them in the past. He looks at media consumption trends and the art of headline writing. NPR Media Correspondent David Folkenflik will talk about media ownership and Paul Tylak and Tara Flynn with perform a short radio play set in a newsroom.
The Media Show airs on RTÉ Radio 1, Sundays at 7.00pm
