Tommy Tiernan will present a different type of chat show on RTÉ 2fm, starting this Saturday 4th July at 1pm.
The four-part, hour-long series will run every Saturday in July and will be broadcast live from one of Ireland’s best-loved venues, The Sugar Club on Dublin’s Leeson Street.
The Tommy Tiernan Show will see the top comedian interview two guests every week in front of a live audience. But there’s a catch: Tommy won’t know who he is interviewing until they walk out onto The Sugar Club stage. Each week will also see some of Ireland’s favourite and up-and-coming bands take to the stage.
Tiernan says: “One of the great things about the old Late Late Show was not knowing who the guests were until they appeared on screen, it kept the whole thing lively, so I just thought well how would it be if the host didn’t know who they were until they walked out either. Every time I thought about it, it just made me laugh so…………let’s see! Doing it front of a live audience is the key for me, it all seems like good unpredictable fun.”
The final show in the series will take place on Saturday 25th July in Dublin’s Iveagh Gardens in association with the Vodafone Comedy Festival.
Tickets are free but limited and booking is essential. To secure a place on the guest list, email your name, required quantity of tickets (maximum of four per person) and preferred date to tommy@rte.ie.
