The event aims to raise money for ISPCC, and was announced on Breakfast Republic this morning by Hozier.
Hozier, Little Green Cars, Gavin James, Riptide Movement, Ryan Sheridan, Hudson Taylor will all perform live on the night and more acts are to be announced. The 2fm Xmas Ball at the 3Arena will be hosted by all 2fm presenters including Nicky Byrne & Jenny Greene, Eoghan McDermott, Bernard O’Shea, Jen Maguire and Keith Walsh, Tracy Clifford and more.
Head of 2fm, Dan Healy said: “We’re absolutely thrilled that ISPCC have chosen 2fm as their partner for this prestigious event. Not only does it give 2fm a great opportunity to support this wonderful charity – it also gives us the opportunity to reinforce our ongoing support of great Irish artists and Irish music. As part of our public service remit, putting Irish charities front and centre is a key component of our output and there’s nothing more important than giving aid and support to vulnerable children. This partnership is spearheaded by Caroline Downey and we’re full of admiration for her and the work of her team at the ISPCC. It’s guaranteed to be a great event!”
Caroline Downey President of The ISPCC and producer of the 2fm Xmas Ball said “We work to support and help children 24-hours a day, every day, throughout the whole year. However, at Christmas, some children need even more support to cope. Throughout the Christmas period, we will be supporting, listening and protecting children. Myself, Grainia Long our CEO and the children who need and use our services are incredibly grateful for the support of all the artists, RTÉ 2fm, 3 Arena and MCD for their ongoing commitment to keeping children safe.”
