Colm Hayes made Radio NOVA Programme Director

Former 2fm presenter Colm Hayes is the new Programme Director at Radio NOVA in Dublin.

Colm is well-known for his time at RTÉ 2fm, where he presented The Colm Hayes Show and, previously, The Colm & Jim Jim Show.

Prior to that he served as Programme Director of FM104 for many years, and is credited for bringing the then-ailing station to the number one position in the mid-90s, where it has remained ever since. He was also instrumental in the creation of FM104’s Strawberry Alarm Clock breakfast show.

Radio Nova CEO Kevin Branigan told RadioToday: “Colm has a long track record of achievement in programming and we’re delighted to welcome him to Nova”.

Colm Hayes added: “Nova just feels right. We can make this radio station bigger and better. It’s the station I listen to all the time. We have plans to make this a really special radio, relevant radio station for the greater Dublin area.”

Nova broadcasts to Dublin City, county and commuter belt and had 135,000 listeners in the most recent JNLR. The station has made no secrets of its ambitions to grow its audience and influence in the market.

“This is a sign of intent for us. Our ambition is to be in the top tier of radio stations in Dublin, along with 98FM and FM104 and the appointment of Colm to the important position of Programme Director is an important one for us”, says Branigan.

Kevin Branigan himself has acted as both CEO and PD of Nova since 2013.
