Date announced for IMRO Radio Awards shortlist

The shortlist for the IMRO Radio Awards 2017 will be announced on Tuesday 5th September at 11am.

There have been 295 hours of entries listened to by 90 judges in recent weeks, since the deadline passed to submit entries on June 30th.

The awards, previously known as the PPIs, will take place a month later on October 6th 2017 at the Lyrath Estate, Kilkenny, and feature radio stations from all over the island of Ireland. Entries can be made by licensed analogue and digital terrestrial commercial and public service radio stations.

In addition to the Outstanding Achievement Award and the IMRO Radio Awards Hall of Fame inductees, 37 Awards will be handed out on the night in what has become one of the highlights of the Irish radio calendar.

Earlier this year, IMRO confirmed it will sponsor the Awards for the next five years. The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland has also confirmed that it will continue its support for the Awards.
