She is presenter of RTÉ’s Doctors on Call; medical expert on RTÉ’s Operation Transformation and writes a weekly column called Doctors Orders in The Sunday Independent.
Dr Ciara Kelly said: “I’m very excited to be joining the Newstalk weekend line-up. I love contributing to George Hook’s ‘High Noon’ show, and I’m looking forward to offering another platform to help people improve all aspects of their own health and wellbeing. It will be exciting being the one asking all the questions, so I hope to cultivate a really interesting mix of guests to interview on my show. I’m looking forward to strengthening my relationship with Newstalk, and I hope the new show will offer an entertaining hour of insights and discussion for my audience!”
Garrett Harte, Newstalk Editor-in-Chief, also commented on the announcement: “We are delighted to announce Ciara Kelly’s addition to the Newstalk weekend team. Ciara has used her expertise and experience to educate the country about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and how to take better care of themselves and we’re excited to give her a different arena to build on this message. Ciara is a fantastic addition to Newstalk’s line-up and we hope her show will build on the great success of the Colette Fitzpatrick show and continue to introduce Newstalk to a wider audience.”
Alive and Kicking will be live every Sunday from 9am-10am. The first broadcast on Communicorp’s national speech station Newstalk 106-108fm will take place on October 2nd.
