Cork stations encourage people to shop local

Cork’s 96FM & C103 are encouraging listeners to shop local again this year.

As well as an on-air promo campaign running across both brands, the Wireless Group stations have had special window stickers printed and distributed to shops. Those who display the sticker and tweet a photo of it using the hashtag #shoplocalcork will be in with a chance to win an advertising campaign on Cork’s 96FM & C103.

The initiative has received the backing of Cork Business Association as well as Cork City Council.

Cork’s 96FM & C103 Group Sales Manager, Joy Hennebry told RadioToday.ie: “We are asking businesses to get involved by displaying the ‘I Love to Shop Local’ sticker over the festive period, to encourage customers to shop local, to create awareness and conversation around same. We are asking them to get social too. If they share a photo on twitter using the hashtag ‘#shoplocalcork’, we will retweet these to our 43,000+ followers across the Cork’s 96FM and C103 twitter platforms.”

Between the 12th and 16th of December, the Cork’s 96FM & C103 Street Fleet team will visit a number of randomly selected businesses who have been tweeting using the hashtag, and displaying their stickers,to further promote the campaign and to deliver hampers to these randomly selected daily winners.
