Cork International Radio is aiming to launch before the end of the month, and is currently looking for presenters, producers and researchers.
The station is aiming to tap in to the growing number of “native born Corkonians” living in Canada, USA and Australia as well as citizens born in other countries who have now made Cork their home.
Programming is being designed to appeal to listeners both in the city and county as well as those in countries abroad.
“The target date to commence our first live broadcast is the begining of January 2013. We will of course be test broadcasting between now and then,” the station says on its website.
“No venture such as this can survive without the help of many participants. As a “not for profit” co-operative, we are inviting prospective broadcast personnel to join us on a voluntary basis.”
