Radio 1 has secured the National Dairy Council as sponsor of the station’s agricultural affairs programme, Countrywide with Damien O’Reilly.
The deal starts Saturday for nine months on the show which has increased its audience to 222,000 weekly listeners in the most recent JNLR figures.
Jim Jennings, Head of RTÉ Radio 1, says: “We are very pleased to welcome the National Dairy Council as Countrywide’s new sponsor. Countrywide continues to go from strength to strength under the stewardship of Damien O’Reilly and his producer, Ian Wilson.
“With the country’s most-listened-to agricultural radio programme joining forces with Ireland’s national body for dairy farmers and the dairy industry, the announcement of this sponsorship clearly illustrates the importance of supporting Irish agri-businesses and giving the sector a strong voice within the Irish media.”
Ronan Murphy, Sales Manager, RTÉ Client Sales says of the sponsorship: “I am delighted to welcome The NDC as sponsors of Countrywide on RTÉ Radio 1. This association between RTÉ, NDC and ZenithOptimedia is one of those special opportunities to bring ideal partners together for what is an exciting nine months collaboration ahead!”
