Ballyfermot College students to go on air

Students from Ballyfermot College of Further Education in Dublin are getting ready to operate a week-long radio station.

D10FM is a project conceived by first year students of the college’s two-year radio production diploma course and will broadcast live for up to 12 hours a day starting at 8:15am between 22-26 April 2013.

Departments such as finance, production and programming were set up and managed by the students who have 100 percent control and responsibility over the station’s content and overall output.

Programmes include a mix of subjects featuring topics such as talk, sports, film, with a range of music genres. BCFE journalism students will provide hourly news bulletins.

Although only on air for one week, D10FM’s goal is to provide its local franchise area and community with a varied and enjoyable listening experience, and to showcase the talent that BCFE continues to produce.
