X-Factor judge Louis Walsh will present a one-off show on RTÉ 2fm this Bank Holiday Monday featuring some of his favourite songs.
RTÉ Ten says he’s taking time out from searching for a new boyband to host the two hour show from 10am. “2fm helped me so much with Boyzone. I always remember them with the Beat on the Street with Westlife, Samantha Mumba and Ronan Keating. It’s always been my favourite station in Ireland,” he told the website.
“On the show I’m going to play my very favourites. I’m going to put in lots of Irish songs I’m going to pick a few obscure songs that people don’t know about. I’m not going to pick boyband songs, it’s a boyband free zone.
“I love oldies, I love Roy Orbison, I love Patsy Cline, I love Van Morrisson, I love ABBA, I love Joe Dolan. I love everything, I love Thin Lizzy, I love all kinds of music. I actually like music, believe it or not.”
Feedback hasn’t been too popular with all of the comments so far against the decision.
