Contracts owned by operators of Highland Radio, Midlands Radio and Sunshine 106.8 are being advertised by the BAI in national press today.
All applications for any of the services must adhere to the format set out in the relevant Guide to Submissions listed on the BAI website.
The three areas being advertised today are:
North Donegal
Currently operate by Highland Radio, and being challenged by Patrick Simpson.
Counties Laois, Offaly and Westmeath
Currently operated by Midlands 103, and being challenged by Midlands Broadcasting Company.
Dublin City and County
Finally, this service is currently being operated by Sunshine 106.8, and being challenged by Easy FM – Ireland’s Country Music Station.
All three current services’ contracts will expire on 30th September 2014.
The BAI previously said five areas will be re-advertised, so the remaining two will be advertised in the final quarter of 2013.
The closing date for receipt of applications for the sound broadcasting services is 12 noon, Monday 23rd September, 2013.
