A new 10 part radio drama for the under 7s is to be broadcast on RTÉ’s dedicated digital radio channel for children, RTÉ jr radio.
Scout of the Yard tells the story of a young border collie who fancies himself as a creature detective, made for the audience of children from 4 – 7 years starting on Sunday 8 September at 11.30am.
Scout of the yard delivers stories about Irish farming traditions through the eyes of a young border collie who fancies himself as a creature detective, but sometimes there’s a simple explanation for what Scout sees as a crime.
Bran and Sally the other two sheepdogs often have to put right what Scout messes up but that doesn’t stop Scout’s investigations though, as he interrogates all of the farm animals with his unique crime solving methods and embroils his sidekick, Jack the donkey, in his bumbling detective work.
Scout of the Yard is a fun series where children can learn lots about a typical Irish farm.
The series is produced exclusively for RTÉ jr radio by All Points West Radio Productions and was made with the support of the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland.
