After seven months off-air, John Murray has returned to RTÉ Radio 1 today with a number of welcomes from colleagues and listeners.
He welcomed listeners back to his daily hour-long show by asking “What do you know” and thanking listeners for welcoming him back. He also have a big thanks to Miriam O’Callaghan who had been covering most of the shows. Miriam now returns to her weekend show.
He left the show in April saying he’d be back around a month later but has been off all summer with depression.

John himself tweeted on his show account last night: “Looking forward to returning in the am. A big thank you to @MiriamOCal for the superb job she did in my absence” “And thanks for all the good wishes too. Means a lot.”
