After seven months off-air, John Murray has returned to RTÉ Radio 1 today with a number of welcomes from colleagues and listeners.
He welcomed listeners back to his daily hour-long show by asking “What do you know” and thanking listeners for welcoming him back. He also have a big thanks to Miriam O’Callaghan who had been covering most of the shows. Miriam now returns to her weekend show.
He left the show in April saying he’d be back around a month later but has been off all summer with depression.
Fellow RTÉ Radio presenter Pauric Lodge said: “Powerful, thought-provoking and courageous words from John Murray about depression. Delighted to hear him back on the radio.”
