7am start for new 2fm Breakfast Republic

The new breakfast show on RTÉ 2fm, hosted by Jennifer Maguire, Keith Walsh and Bernard O’Shea will commence next week and have a 7am start time.

The show is named after Maguire and O’Shea’s comedy television show Republic of Telly and will be sponsored by multivitamin product Berocca Performance.

The deal with Berocca, brokered by MediaCom, is said to be worth a quarter-of-a-million Euro and includes ten second tags from 7am till 9am. It also includes online sponsorship. Enda Ryan, brand manager for Berocca, said: “The Berocca brand message will reach consumers at the optimal time of the day.”

The new breakfast show is part of a shake-up at 2fm under new boss Dan Healy. Other programme changes includes the exit of John Clarke and moving to weekends of Larry Gogan, Colm Hayes to drivetime and Nicky Byrne joining for mid-mornings.
