RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta is to broadcast the final for the Seán Ó Riada Gold Medal, taking place in the Rochestown Park Hotel in Cork tomorrow.
Two cousins from West Kerry, and TG4’s Young Traditional Musician of the Year, will be among fifteen competitors who will take to the stage for the event, which will also be website on cuireadhchunceoil.ie.
This year’s competition will be judged by master musicians Charlie Harris, Mick Mulcahy and Noel Hill. The winner of the competition will receive the Seán Ó Riada Gold Medal and €2000.
The competition is sponsored by RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta, Iontaobhas Fódhla, Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, Gael Linn and The Rochestown Park Hotel.
The final for the Seán Ó Riada Gold Medal can be heard live on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta tomorrow – Friday 7 February at 7pm.
