WLRFM ends 15 year partnership with IRS

IRS+ and WLRFM have made a new agreement which sees the end of their 15 year partnership.

Both entities will now bring two complementary offerings to the market from 1st April this year instead of IRS representing WLR in the national marketplace.

Peter Smyth, Acting CEO, IRS+ said “Local radio has always been at the heart of IRS+ and this new arrangement allows us to maintain our focus and energies on our local stations particularly this year when local radio is celebrating 25 years. We would like to wish WLR FM all the best in their new endeavour; I have no doubt the marriage of urban stations combined will be a successful venture”.

WLR FM Managing Director, Des Whelan, thanked IRS+ for the service and commitment it has given to WLR over the last 15 years. “IRS+ has done a wonderful job promoting local radio to national clients and we wish the board, management and staff all the success for the future.”

IRS+ continues to represent the majority of local stations across the country and 2014 sees them expand their product offering into the digital sphere.
