Community radio station Phoenix FM is to broadcast a non-stop Radiothon, and has a number of slots available for presenters to get involved.
Most of the fundraising slots have been taken by volunteers, board members, staff and community groups to present an hour of radio on whichever topic they choose for €50.
The event is a fundraiser to keep 92.5 Phoenix FM open and to support the continuation of the work it does in the Dublin 15 community. It starts at midday on Wednesday 26th March and ends at midday Friday.
Funds will hopefully go towards ‘filling the gaps’ in the schedule, as the station only broadcasts for 57 hours a week with a 60:40 ratio of talk and music.
The station says: “The Radiothon raises money through people or companies sponsoring an hour of programming. You can broadcast on any topic you want during the Radiothon if you raise €50 per hour by seeking sponsorship (either corporate or otherwise). The deadline for allocation of time slots is March 15.”
