SPIN 1038’s Assistant Programme Director, and one half of the Zoo Crew Hot 30 Brian Maher is leaving the station at the end of the week.
Brian has already changed his Twitter address from BrianMaherSPIN to @MrBrianMaher and tweeted yesterday saying: “So it begins. My last week at @spin1038″ along with a photo of his colleagues.” He says he’s off to pursue “some personal projects for a while!”
Drivetime presenter Steve K later tweeted to confirm Brian’s departure: “This is to confirm @MrBrianMaher is leaving #spin1038”.
It brings to an end a fantastic 12 years in Spin1038 – 8 of which, I spent presenting The Zoo Crew Hot 30.
Brian told RadioToday: “It was a tough decision to leave but after fulfilling my dreams working for Spin 1038 with some of my best friends I felt it was time to chase some new ones. A solo career awaits. I want to set myself some new, bigger challenges ala Challenge126 and believe it or believe it not, I plan on venturing into politics in the coming years too.”
It is thought the Zoo Crew Hot 30, weeknights from 18:45, will now just be presented by Dara Quilty.
