Brendan O’Carroll for RTÉ Radio 1 shows

Comedian Brendan O’Carroll will be sitting in for Marian Finucane this weekend on RTÉ Radio 1.

The Mrs Brown’s Boys creator will be on-air Saturday and Sunday from 11am till 1pm, with interviews, current affairs issues and more.

Brendan is no stranger to Radio 1 of course, he’s known to thousands of listeners as a regular on Liveline’s Funny Friday programme and has even stood in for Joe Duffy as presenter of the monthly live comedy show.

Brendan says: “Of course, I won’t be able to fill Marian Finucane’s seat. However, if I can sit on the edge and be a fraction of what she is, and what she does, I will be happy. I’m looking forward to presenting the show this weekend and hope the listeners enjoy the programme as much as I know I will.”

What are RTE thinking of. I would have thought that Lyric should have recruited him to fill for Marty. Now that would be post modern. Which persona will be in action I wonder? With the gender imbalance discussion Mrs. Brown would seem the better fit. Currant bun affairs if you will.
