Radio Nova launches a World Cup of Music

Radio Nova is to kick off a music clash of the titans with the launch of The World Cup of Music.

Kicking off today, the station will pitch 16 of its biggest artists against each other in a 4-day long tournament that will see the 16 brought through Quarter Finals and Semi Finals with the ultimate winner chosen in a Final playoff on Friday afternoon.

Over the coming days, artists will battle it out against each other with each competing song for song until the winner is chosen by Nova listeners.

Heats will take place at 10am, 12pm, 2pm & 4pm each day Tuesday & Wednesday with Quarter Finals on Thursday and the Semifinals on Friday morning. The all-important final will take place at 4pm.

Nova’s Dave Ailsbury says “The World Cup of Music is the ultimate battle of music and will give Nova listeners to choose their all-time favourite act. Expect U2, The Who, The Stones, Fleetwood Mac, AC/DC, Bowie and many more to slug it out hour by hour in this epic battle!”

The World Cup of Music will be hosted by Nova’s Greg Gaughren and Pat Courtenay.
