Upbeat On Air plans special FM broadcast

St Patrick’s Mental Health Services will run a pop-up radio station for a week during Mental Health Awareness Week.

Upbeat On Air also wants people to get in touch to tell them their most Upbeat song to help build the station’s playlist.

It’ll be on-air from October 6th to October 10th, and broadcast live from St Patrick’s University Hospital on James’s Street, Dublin, throughout the week for over 70 hours between 7am and 10pm.

Upbeat On Air’s main objective is to promote positive mental health on the airwaves throughout mental health week in 2014. It will encourage people to seek support and professional advice and approach and deal with it at an early stage.

The station will be the first Irish radio station dedicated to promoting positive mental health and will seek to attract an audience to convey its message of the importance of positive mental health, early intervention and managing your mental health.

Confirmed presenters so far include Alan Shortt, Teresa Lowe, Alison Canavan and Shay Byrne.
