RTÉ 2fm has announced The Riptide Movement as their nomination to represent Ireland at Europe’s largest new-music event, Eurosonic Festival.
Eurosonic is the biggest hunting ground in Europe for festival bookers, agents, promoters and radio stations across the continent.
The Riptide Movement say: “We’re delighted that RTÉ 2fm has chosen our band to represent Ireland at Eurosonic. Having played Glastonbury, Bennicassim and Electric Picnic, Eurosonic is one of those festivals that we’ve always wanted to play. Bring it on, we can’t wait!”
They join the ranks of previously-selected 2fm acts such as The Strypes, Little Green Cars, The Frames, James Vincent McMorrow, The Coronas, Cathy Davey, God Is An Astronaut, Heathers, Julie Feeney and JJ72.
The event takes place in Groningen, The Netherlands, in January 2015 for the 14th year in a row.
