Phoenix FM have announced details of their second annual 48-hour Radiothon in order to raise funds to continue to keep the station on the air.
The station, which is run on a not-for-profit basis, needs to raise funds to continue broadcasting, is looking for people to take part in what they say is the most exciting event in their calendar.
Last year saw Phoenix FM run their first ever Radiothon to great success, teaming up with numerous local business and Community Groups, as well as both new and familiar faces to raise an impressive €3,300 over the 48 hours.
This year, they are increasing the scope of the event and want local people to get involved – whether it’s presenting an obscure music show or creating a dramatic radio production.
The station are offering people the opportunity to broadcast for one hour on a topic of their own choosing as part of the Radiothon, which kicks off at midday on Wednesday March 25th and finishes off 48 hours later at midday on Friday March 27th.
During the 48 hours, they will be broadcasting from the 92.5 Phoenix FM studios, and from a variety of locations around the Dublin 15 area using their mobile studio set-up.
Phoenix FM say this represents a great chance for local enterprises and Community Groups to inform Dublin 15 about the work they do and what they can offer and are urging all individuals, local groups and businesses to get in touch and join in the fun of the event.
Those interested in getting involved in the 92.5 Phoenix FM Radiothon can email Shane O’Neill to book a slot. The deadline for allocation of time slots is March 11th.
