RTÉ Pulse breakfast presenter DJ Mo-K is joining 2fm to host a new urban music show.
He’ll be on each Friday night, starting this week, from midnight til l2am offering “young, witty, relevant and entertaining radio with a focus on great party music from urban to dance”.
Hailing from Killester in north Dublin, Mo-K is a well known club DJ and has opened for the likes of Rihanna, Akon, Snoop Dog, Chris Brown, Nas, Plan B, Naughty by Nature and Big Daddy Kane. On the other side of the microphone, he has interviewed Usher, Yelawolf, Rudimental, Maverick Sabre and more with his YouTube channel racking up over 800,000 views.
Mo-K will continue his show, Breakfast Beats, on 2fm’s digital sister station RTÉ Pulse, each weekday 9-11am.
Head of 2fm, Dan Healy, says: “Mo-K is a strong addition to 2fm. His breakfast show on RTÉ Pulse really resonates with young audiences who engage with his persona and authenticity, and identify with the music he plays. This move is indicative of the committed relationship that 2fm has with its sister digital stations, RTÉ Pulse and RTÉ 2XM, in working together, developing new talent and giving diverse music genres more exposure as we move towards a fully integrated, digital RTÉ”.
RTÉ Pulse station manager, Adam Fogarty says: “Mo-K is an excellent example of a presenter who understands and represents the RTÉ Pulse ethos. He is young, relevant, high profile and our audience respects and engages with him. He has grown and developed at our station over the last number of years and will be an excellent addition to 2fm as we develop greater collaboration between digital and FM services.”
