Pop-up station Walk in My Shoes Radio returns

Walk in My Shoes Radio is back on-air this week and continues till Friday on FM across the country.

The station is broadcasting live from St Patrick’s Mental Health Services from 10th – 14th October anchored by a host of mental health advocates, celebrity ambassadors and well-known presenters.

Walk in My Shoes Radio is on FM in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Wicklow, Waterford, Louth, Kildare & Cavan, and online.

The overall aim of the station is to encourage listeners to become involved in the conversation around mental health.

Walk in My Shoes Radio line-up:

7-9am: Ciara Whelan and Jon Slattery
9-11am: Shay Byrne
11am-1pm: Sarah Carey and Sinead Lynch
1pm-3pm: Nuala Carey with co-hosts Marty Whelan and Brent Pope
3pm-5pm: Laura Woods and Dustin the Turkey
5pm-7pm: Guest Presenters throughout the week including Alison Canavan, Elaine Crowley, Rebecca Horan, Corina Grant and Rick O’Shea.
7pm-9pm: Aisling O’Loughlin

In addition to the above line-up there are guest presenters and appearances throughout the week.

Speaking at the launch event, Paul Gilligan, CEO of St Patrick’s Mental Health Services, said; ‘Walk in My Shoes Radio is an extremely important platform for St Patrick’s Mental Health Services, allowing us to connect with people all over the country to highlight the importance of seeking support and professional advice as early as possible, if you are struggling with a mental health difficulty. Our pop-up station is a small step in encouraging a dialogue about mental health that is free from stigma. We believe that encouraging people to support the station, and indeed the Guinness World Record attempt, will certainly help in opening the conversation about the importance of looking after your mental health.’

Speaking about the launch, Sarah Surgenor, Head of Communications with St. Patrick’s Mental Health Services said; “We are delighted to formally launch Walk in My Shoes Radio today. With the help of our ambassadors, presenters and contributors, I have no doubt we are going to have a fantastic week on air this year. Our station is all about encouraging listeners to prioritise their mental health, and we feel very lucky that schools all over the country will join us in spreading this message as we attempt to set the record for the world largest mindfulness lesson together’.

Walk in My Shoes Radio will provide 70 hours of quality radio from October 10th-14th. Each show will be anchored by well-known broadcasters and celebrities. Radio professionals from local, national and community radio have also volunteered their services to the station.
