2FM listeners design reworked U2 album cover

RTÉ’s 2FM is inviting listeners to help design the album artwork for the charity version of U2’s The Joshua Tree, due for release in October.

The tracks have been re-recorded by Irish acts including Gavin James, Kodaline, AllTvvins, and The Academic. The iconic album, which features hits including Where The Streets Have No Name and With Or Without You, recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. The covers version, “The Joshua Tree – New Roots”, will be raising money for children’s hospice LauraLynn. It’s been put together by 2FM and Universal Music Ireland.

Now, 2FM listeners are being invited to create and design the album sleeve to be featured on the CD case cover and in record stores across the country. Steve Averill, who designed the cover for the original Joshua Tree album is among the judges for the competition.

More information about the competition is on the 2FM website.
