If you’d like to enter the radio industry armed with the right skills, then the Kerry Education and Training Board and Radio Kerry courses might be of interest.
Two courses are now available – an eight-week Radio Broadcasting Foundation Course and a longer 50-week Radio Broadcasting and Digital Journalism course.
The shorter course is for anyone interested in news, sports, research and production, presenting music shows, sound engineering and podcasting, with a closing date of July 27th. The course starts on September 3rd 2018 and places are filled on a first come, first served basis, limited to 18 only.
This course with industry practitioners gives you an introduction to the key practical skills and experience needed to work in the radio and media sector.
The Radio Broadcasting and Digital Journalism course will be based in Radio Kerry and the Kerry ETB Training Centre in Tralee and is open to applicants from throughout the country. It commences in November 2018.
This course includes a two-month traineeship in a media organisation.
Full details for both courses are at kerryetbtrainingcentre.ie and no fees apply for either course.
