Joan Lea leaves 98FM for more family time

98FM’s late night talk show host Joan Lea has left the station to spend more time at home with her family.

Programme Director Michael Brett told RadioToday: “I can indeed confirm that Joan has left 98FM, to spend more time with her family. She presented her last show on Thursday just gone (11th July).

“Muireann O’Connell will be taking over the slot in the interim.”

Joan has hosted the Joan Lea Show since 2008, after many years with FM104 as part of the original team on the Strawberry Alarm Clock breakfast show.

She previously spent 10 years as a professional jazz performer and jingle singer.

Now the station’s website says “The Late Night Talk Show on 98FM is a fresh approach to talk radio in the Capital. With regular features, great guests and competitions right across the week. Muireann talks about the real issues that matter to Dublin Monday to Thursday from 9pm to 11pm.”
