Radio Kerry is to replace its live radio auction with a new initiative this year which will see the station inviting listeners to wear Christmas Jumpers and raise funds for St. Vincent de Paul.
The local station is running the Christmas Jumper Day on Friday December 12th, with the aim being to raise funds to help supply Kerry families in need with Christmas hampers containing essential food items.
They’re asking listeners to encouraging their team, students, family members, colleagues, customers or staff to wear a Christmas Jumper on the day, take a photograph of the group or a selection of selfies and ask each person in the group to make a donation of €2 or more to St Vincent de Paul.
Listeners can donate directly to their local St Vincent de Paul office or shop in Kerry or drop their donation in to Radio Kerry, Maine Street, Tralee or Glebe Lane, Killarney – and photos can be sent to Radio Kerry via their Facebook or Twitter or by email to svp@radiokerry.ie. The station say they’ll pass all donations on and will post photos online as well as giving them a mention on air.
The on-air team will be promoting the event across the week and all day on Friday December 12th when they will also be visiting schools and businesses across the county.
