The latest Irish radio move was made official this week, as WLR FM management confirmed Teresanne O’Reilly will join WLR FM from Today FM in June.
Teresanne has been the early breakfast presenter on Today FM for the last year and worked in Dublin’s SPIN 1038 previous to that.
WLR FM’s Programme Director, Michael Byrne said: “Signing Teresanne is a real coup and I’m delighted to welcome her to the WLR FM team. Over the past year, Teresanne really engaged with listeners on the Early Breakfast and grew the audience by almost 40% so I know that listeners in Waterford will really enjoy listening to her on WLR FM. Teresanne is from Tramore so she has the blue and white in her veins. We can’t wait to launch the new Big Breakfast Blaa with Timmy and Teresanne on June 22nd.”
Teresanne will also work as Assistant Programme Director at the station.
Teresanne O’Reilly said: “I’m delighted to be moving back to Waterford to co-present the breakfast show that I grew up listening to! Timmy is a WLRFM legend so I can’t wait to work with him. I’m also really excited about taking on the role of Assistant Programme Director. While I love being on radio, I also love the behind-the-scenes and the business of radio an opportunity like this is perfect for me.”
Des Whelan, WLR FM’s Managing Director said: “We’re delighted to welcome Teresanne back to the Broadcast Centre. She is a brilliant talent who will help continue to ensure WLR FM’s Big Breakfast Blaa is one of the best breakfast shows in the independent sector. Above all else in WLR FM, we value our people on-air and it’s great to bring someone back from national radio to their home town.”
It’s the latest shake-up to the station’s weekday schedule in the last few months, after Michael Byrne was appointed Programme Director and Ray C joined the weekday schedule. WLR FM have recently launched a new imaging package from Wise Buddah and the station has just signed a contract with UVote to conduct some music research in the Waterford area in June.
