Denzil Lacey, currently in charge of production with Classic Hits 4FM, a station he joined in 2011, is moving to Limerick-based Spin South West where he will take up the post of Imaging & Production Manager from September.
Announcing the change on his own web site, Lacey said that “unfortunately I will be leaving Classic Hits 4FM, where I have been working for the past four years. I had such an amazing four years in a growing station – from Imaging, Commercial Production, I.T, Music scheduling, Outside Broadcasts and even Social Media at one point”.
He added that one of his highlights at the multi-city station was working for three days in Dubai with 4FM’s breakfast show “PJ & Damian in the Morning”, when they broadcast the show from McGettigans Irish Pub for the St. Patrick’s Day festivities.
Paying tribute to his former colleagues, he said “I am very sad to be leaving all my friends and colleagues but I will be back to say hello at some stage”.
Looking forward, he described Spin South West as “a format and brand that I have always admired and wanted to work at – everything is tight, focused and feel-good” and said that he’s “really looking forward to the new challenge of a CHR station and to develop the sound even further”.
